In the media – Consat Telematics real-time crowding data on Melbourne public transport

city at night

Consat Telematics has been selected for a trial in Melbourne.

The trial is in response to COVID-19 and the challenges of social distancing on public transport. The solution enables passengers to make informed decisions about their travel and avoid crowded services. Passengers will receive in real-time, information on bus or tram location along with how crowded it may be. It helps reduce the anxiety of passengers by answering the question “should I catch the next bus, is it crowded, is the following bus less crowded?”.

“At Consat we have vast experience in real-time information systems for public transportation and it feels truly great to be able to support the Victoria Department of Transport and public transport users with this initiative.”

“With renewed focus on safe and efficient travel this technology provides confidence to the traveling public, it assists us all in getting back to work” Lachlan Mackay Managing Director Consat Australia”
